353. T. MORRIS HARDY7 (Edward1, Hugh2, John3, Edward4, Jane5, Elizabeth R. Fussell6), fourth child and third son of Neal and Elizabeth R. (Fussell) Hardy, was born at Pendleton, Indiana, 2 mo. 4, 1840, and died at Anderson, Indiana, 5 mo. 30, 1915. He was a teacher, farmer, and banker; served three years in the Union Army during the Civil War. He married, 9 mo. 28, 1865, Margaret Jane Wilson, daughter of William and Margaret (Stickler) Wilson. She was born at Pendleton, Indiana, 10 mo. 20, 1839, and died 8 mo. 22, 1909. They had no children. 354. ELIZA ANN HARDY7 (Edward1, Hugh2, John3, Edward4, Jane5, Elizabeth R. Fussell6), fifth child and second daughter of Neal and Elizabeth R. (Fussell) Hardy, born at Pendleton, Indiana, 10 mo. 13, 1843, is still living (1920) at Pendleton. She was a nurse for two years in Union hospitals at Memphis, Tenn., and Louisville, Ky., during the Civil War. She is an officer of the Board of Charities and Corrections for Madison County, Indiana. She married, first, 10 mo. 12, 1865, Martin Knickerbocker, a farmer near Pendleton, Indiana. He was born in New York, 10 mo. 14, 1840, and died near Pendleton, 4 mo. 8, 1868. They had no children. She married, second, 1 mo. 4, 1870, John R. Boston, son of Jesse Boston, of Baltimore, Md. Child of John R. and Eliza Ann (Hardy) Boston: 519 Mary, b. 3-13–1871; unm. 355. LINNEAEUS FUSSELL, M.D.7 (Edward1, Hugh2, John3, Edward4, Jane5, Edwin Fussell6), third child of Dr. Erwin and Rebecca (Lewis) Fussell, born at Pendleton, Ind., 9 mo. 2, 1842, moved with his parents to Philadelphia in 1849, and graduated from Philadelphia High School in 1860. He taught school and studied medicine under his father; served in 20th Regiment, Pennsylvania Militia, at Gettysburg in 1863; matriculated at University of Pennsylvania, but before finishing his course was commisssioned surgeon in United States Navy; served on Blockley Squadron to the close of the war. He then resumed his medical studies but again abandoned them and went on a three years’ cruise to China. He also accompanied the Darien Exploring Expedition which surveyed the Isthmus of Panama and was on shore duty as surgeon at the Brooklyn Navy Yard. Linnaeus Fussell finally finished his course at the University, resigned from the Navy in 1874, and settled in Media, Pa., where he built a large practice, being recognized as one of the foremost physicians of Delaware County. He was secretary and curator of the Delaware County Institute of Science and contributed a number of papers to their proceedings; secretary of the Delaware County Medical Society; of Media Board of Health; and Commander of Post Bradbury, G.A.R. He died in Media, 10 mo. 28, 1907. He married, 6 mo. 4, 1877, Edith Johnson, daughter of Oliver Hough and Ellen (Sellers) Johnson. She was born in Philadelphia, 3 mo. 17, 1853, and died at Media, 4 mo. 9, 1914. Children of Linnaeus and Edith (Johnson) Fussell: 525 Ellen, b. 8-26–1878; m. MARY TOWNSEND FUSSELL7 (Edward1, Hugh2, John3, Edward4, Jane5, Edwin Fussell6), fifth child of Dr. Edwin and Rebecca (Lewis) Fussell, born in Philadelphia, 10 mo. 23, 1849, married, 3 mo. 29, 1870, Henry Moore Fussell, son of Henry Bartholomew and Maria (Douglass) Fussell. He was born in Philadelphia, 9 mo. 14, 1845, and died in Media, 2 mo. 17, 1917. He was a lawyer and practiced in Philadelphia and Media from 1876 until his death. EDWIN NEAL FUSSELL7 (Edward1, Hugh2, John3, Edward4, Jane5, Edwin Fussell6), seventh and youngest child of Dr. Edwin and Rebecca (Lewis) Fussell, born in Philadelphia, 3 mo. 17, 1863, died at Pasadena, California, 7 mo. 1, 1895. He was an inspector of post-offices with headquarters at Denver, Colorado, later at New Orleans, La. His health failing he removed to California. He married, at Wallingford, Delaware County, Pa., 11 mo. 3, 1885, Sarah Elizabeth Howell, daughter of James Clark and Jane W. (Forrest) Haswell. She was born 9 mo. 25, 1863. After her husband’s death she became a teacher in Pasadena. Children of Edwin Neal and Sarah Elizabeth (Haswell) Fussell:

He was associated in business with his father in the manufacture of umbrellas until their retirement. He married, 6 mo. 16, 1880, Alice Leedom Cook, daughter of Dr. Charles and Hannah Somers (Ballinger) Cook. She was born 4 mo. 24, 1853, and died 12 mo. 4, 1910. They had no children. 372. WILLIAM HENRY FUSSELL7 (Edward1, Hugh2, John3, Edward4, Jane5, Milton Fussell6), eldest child of Milton and Tamar J. (Haldeman) Fussell, born at Pikeland, Chester County, Pa., 1 mo. 18, 1850, died at Narberth, Pa., 11 mo. 26, 1901. He married, 6 mo. 17, 1874, Laura C. Lewis, daughter of Joseph and Elizabeth Steele (Hoopes) Lewis. She was born at Newtown Square, Chester County, Pa., 5 mo. 29, 1849, and died at Narbert, 7 mo. 22, 1899. (Haldeman) Fussell, born at Belvidere, now known as Whitford, near Downingtown, Chester County, Pa., 11 mo. 24, 1855, died suddenly on a train near Williamsport, Pa., 10 mo. 15, 1921. He graduated from the University of Pennsylvania (Medical Department) in 1884 and resided for a number of years in Roxborough, Philadelphia. He was Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania, Physician at St. Mary’s Hospital, and Pathologist at St. Timothy’s Hospital, Roxborough, and a member of the Association of American Physicians, American Medical Association, Philadelphia County Medical Society, and Philadelphia Pathological Society. He married, 3 mo. 3, 1884, Sarah E. Entwisle, daughter of Thomas and Anna (Bleasdale) Entwisle. She was born in Phoenixville, Pa., 8 mo. 31, 1860. Children of Dr. Milton Howard and Sarah E. He was connected with the Pardee Steel Corporation of Perth Amboy, N. J., manufacturers of steel products and tile. He served in the World War as lieutenant and assistant adjutant of the Training Brigade, Kelly Field, San Antonio, Texas, where he died. He married, 10 mo. 7, 1905, Helen Pardee, daughter of Calvin and Mary (Day) Pardee, of Philadelphia. She was born 12 mo. 11, 1882. He is in the employ of the Philadelphia and Reading Railway Company at Quakertown Station. He married Ella Landis, daughter of Henry Landis. She was born in 1879 and died 3 mo. 3, 1920. FOULKE7* (Edward1, Hugh2, Thomas3, Everard4, Caleb5, Benjamin G.6), second child of Benjamin G. and Jane (Mather) Foulke, born in Quakertown, 7 mo. 25, 1841, died 4 mo. 14, 1909. He was educated in Friends’ Schools at Quakertown, Gwynedd, and Philadelphia. After teaching school in Philadelphia and Quakertown he engaged in the wool business in Philadelphia from 1861 to 1872, when he retired. Studying art abroad in 1872–74–85–90, and on many shorter visits, he soon became the owner of one of the largest and most varied collections of antique tapestries in the world, including the famous collection of the Barberini family of Italy, which he purchased in 1888; he also wrote and lectured on Antique Art. and Tapestries. Charles M. Foulke was President of the National Society of Fine Arts, member of International Art Society of Belgium, member of Geological and Historical Society of Washington, D. C., member of National Art Association of New York, member of Metropolitan, Country, and Chevy Chase Clubs of Washington, D. C., he was also a director of the Fletcher Manufacturing Co., of Providence, R. I. He married, 12 mo. 10, 1872, in Paris, Sarah A. Cushing, daughter of Horace Cushing, of New York, and granddaughter of Abel Cushing, of Boston, Mass. Children of Charles M. and Sarah A. He married, first, 5 mo. 25, 1869, Emma Bullock, daughter of Samuel and Jemina B. Bullock, of Mt. Holly, N.J.; second, 2 mo. 19, 1915, Frances B. Garrett, daughter of Phillip and Elizabeth C.
