LEROY "ROY" EICHLIN

 

LEROY "ROY" EICHLIN of Richlandtown, previously of Bedminster Township died Thursday, Aug. 14, 2003, in Phoebe Richland Health Care Center, Richlandtown. He was 92.

He was the husband of ANNA PAULINE (STREAPY) EICHLIN. They had been married for 68 years in March.

Born in Bursonville, Springfield Township, Bucks County, he was the son of the late WILLIAM and ALICE (HANEY) EICHLIN.

Roy helped on the family farm as a young boy, later becoming a self-employed car mechanic. He worked for Paul Moyer as a farm mechanic and for Kellers Farm Implements in Richlandtown. Roy had an apple orchard in Sellersville, where he made cider. He later moved to Bedminster Road in Perkasie, where he raised and sold daylilies and hostas.

He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Pipersville.

Roy had no children, but he loved to tease his numerous nieces and nephews, his great-nieces and nephews and his great-great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, WM. RALPH EICHLIN and his sister, EVELYN REESE.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Aug. 18, in Jeffrey A. Naugle Funeral Home, 20 N. Ambler St., Quakertown, where family and friends are invited to call from noon to 1. Interment will be held in Whitemarsh Memorial Park, Prospectville.

Memorial contributions may be made to Christ Lutheran Church, 355 Dark Hollow Road, Pipersville, PA 18947 or to St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, 3668 Ridge Road, Perkasie, PA 18944.
