EVELYN W. HUGHES

EVELYN WILSON HUGHES of Ottsville died Aug. 14, 2003, at her home surrounded by her children.

She was 71.She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, CHARLES "MARTY" HUGHES.Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of JAMES L. and MABEL FRETZ WILSON.She graduated from Olney High School after leaving her mark in field hockey and tennis.While living in Baltimore, she worked for many years at the public library and continued to volunteer at the Quakertown branch of the Bucks County Public Library. She spent her latter years gardening and "yard sale-ing."

At Evelyn's request, there will be no funeral. She was an avid animal lover and memorial contributions may be given to the animal welfare organization of one's choice.
