THE DEATH ROLL.
Lewis T. Rodan received a telegram yesterday morning announcing the sudden death from apoplexy', on Wednesday evening, of his step-father, Foster P. Chrichton, at his home in Santa Fe, New Mexico. The deceased was formerly a resident of Bristol and was well known here. He was a contractor and carpenter by trade and left Bristol twenty-one years ago for Santa Fe, where he has resided with his family ever since. For many years while a resident here Mr. CHRICHTON took great Interest in the affairs of the Presbyterian Church and Sunday school. He was choir master and drilled the Sunday school in the singing exercises. The deceased was in his 74th year and is survived by a widow, who is the mother of Mr. Rodan by a former husband, and two children, Mrs. Rose CHRICHTON McBride and Roy J. CHRICHTON, all of Santa Fe. The deceased also leaves two brothers, one a resident of (Glasgow, Scotland, and the other a resident of New Zealand. WILLIAM WOODINGTONWilliam Woodington, aged 42 years, a resident of Pear street, Bristol, died from the effects of exposure last Saturday night. Woodington who had been drinking heavily, was found in a stable in the rear of Bennett's bakery on Mill street by Officers Sackville and Bloodgood. The policemen conveyed the body in a wagon to the station house and believing that there was still a spark of life left, worked over the insensible man for nearly a half hour, but. he failed to revive Dr. H. Pursell was summoned and pronounced him dead. The deceased leaves a widow and six children. The interment was made in the Bristol Cemetery on Wednesday. MRS. ELLEN McCOLE.Mrs. Ellen McCole, wife of Daniel McCole, aged 67 years, died at her home, 306 Jefferson avenue, on Tuesday morning at 9:30 o'clock. Death was due to diabetes. The deceased, who was an invalid for several years, is survived by the husband and six children, two daughters being in a convent and Anna, Cornelius, Ella and Marcella. The funeral will be held today. Interment at SI. Mark's Cemetery. DAVID L. WATSON.David L. Watson, in his 90th year, a life-long resident of Middletown township, died last Saturday at the home of George C. Buckman, Newtown. The deceased was born In Middletown township and up to a few years Ago was engaged In farming. Mr. Watson's wife died a year ago. Two sons and a daughter survive him, William and Charles Watson and Mrs. George C. Buckman of Newtown. The funeral was held on Wednesday. Interment at Newtown Cemetery. __ |
